10:01 AMSpring is almost here although today in Houston its barely above freezing dark and dreary! But we must look forward to the spring air and a new book to devour. I have chose just the perfect book Buried Beneath The Baobab Tree by Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani. This book takes you to the northern part of Nigeria during the height of the Boko Haram crisis. Adaobi tells the story of a young girl with aspirations of a higher education taken from her home by Boko Haram and her will to survive.
Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani is a Nigerian novelist, humorist, essayist and journalist. Her debut novel, I Do Not Come to You By Chance, won the 2010 Commonwealth Writers Prize for Best First Book, a Betty Trask First Book award, and named by Washington Post as one of the Best Books of 2009.
